I often consider how the female body continues to inspire the alternate arm to my practice.
The faces I create are pieced together. They feel mathematical like a sum.
It is addition;
I am building presence to reveal their expression and their soul.
With the figures, the practice is more harmonious.
More physical.
Guided by feeling and fluidity.
Gestural strokes the length of my arm,
created on sheets of cotton card that measures the length of a torso.
Intimate.
Sexual, without being explicit.
Wild, delicate,
resolved. Romantic.
I have mastered the art of indulgent and self-assured lines that run like a signature.
The curves have been memorised by my hand,
it is free to freshly write a new version each and every time.
To play.
And so the bodies will continue to be created -
a pleasurable pastime for me;
for your enjoyment, musing and company.
